I subscribed to your podcast on my phone. I don't listen to enough of Substack so I miss things. The NYPL doesn't have your book and I'm an old man library reader.
Great work, Bram. I have to admit, there were a number of moments throughout the podcast where I encountered strong points of inner resistance and tension. While I generally disagree with Solanas' perspective I appreciate the care and detail of the work you are doing here and also appreciate you articulating how your views on her work have to be situated in both bringing marginal voices to the conversation, as well as how you are now interested in what a positive masculinity might look like. Again, while I disagree with many of Solanas' perspectives on the nature of masculinity and femininity, I do at the same time recognise that there is a partial truth being expressed here, and if we continue to marginalise that partial truth or do not give it the time and attention that you are, we miss a crucial resource for reflecting on the nature of our own personal relationship to sex and gender. Thanks for providing us with high quality and emotionally difficult work here.
Thanks so much Cadell, I appreciate you taking time to engage. The writing in the episode is a little older than some of my thoughts on this matter too, especially after reading Jonathan Haidt, Richard Reeves, Nina Power and Amia Srinivasan. I'll definitely return to these themes, and I'm very interested to keep an eye on any of your courses that explore these subjects!
Bram, this is genuinely heroic. I’m afraid I’m one of those people who knows next to nothing about these writers. I’m just glad some other routes I’ve been on have prepared me to resonate so hard with this. Incredible. Tough and interesting conversations ahead and I am very here for them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Brilliant, thank you, I'll definitely check out your video!

It would be amazing if they did stock it! We're quite a small press

So glad you got something from it Dan, both writers have a small but incredibly powerful ouevre... Happy to act as a portal in
Good work.
